BLOW your trumpet, toot your flute - new players are needed in Alstonville. The highly successful and amazing little Alstonville Concert Band is currently recruiting new players across all sections of the band.

This band of talented musicians has been playing together now for over four years and performs regularly in the local area, playing at the Alstonville Anzac Day Ceremony and Alstonville Show as well as fundraising for worthwhile causes such as Legacy, the Lismore PCYC, the Victorian Bushfire Appeal and Lismore Breast Cancer Support Group. In 2008 the band supported one of its members in travelling to China to play in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Orchestra!

Local well-known vocalist, Dean Doyle, regularly sings and plays trombone with the band, Chanel Handags Replica which performs a wide variety of pieces from popular musicals through to Dixieland, and from classical music through to rock. The Alstonville Concert Band is a wind orchestra featuring brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, and includes a bassoon and French horn. In particular, the band is looking for an experienced drummer / percussionist and a bass guitar player, as well as flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trombones and trumpets.

The conductor and musical director of the band is the highly experienced and talented John Sewell, who has previously conducted the Victorian airforce and police bands and the Waverly concert band.

The band would like to hear from anyone of a suitable standard on their instrument who would be interested in joining, or just coming along to rehearsals to check us out.
